Before your mow down those ubiquitous dandelions and violets that are invading your yard, go here to learn about their health benefits and get free DIY reicpes ! I have some of the violet blossom vinegar sitting in a dark place right now. In a week or two it will be ready to use in my salad dressing recipe.
Today I am trying the violet and dandelion petals in raw honey.
There is even an herbal scouring cleanser recipe for houshold cleaning.
Oooh, this is giving me ideas. How about a Royal Herbalist paper doll, with dandelions and violets? She would look cute with my Beekeeper paper doll.
Thanks, Nerdy Farm Wife! You have a lovely blog!

Hi Marie,
ReplyDeleteI tried the honey and the violet vinegar. Haven't tasted it yet. I didn't know you raised peacocks! I always wanted to have them in my yard ever since I was a child. There was a rest home back then that had them walking on the grounds. So romantic. How do you protect them from predators?
Sometimes you cannot protect them.We have bobcats and foxes. Most of them are aware of dangers, but then like in all creatures...You get some dumm ones. But we are pretty lucky with them.Haven't lost to many.
ReplyDeleteRhonda I want you to vist my Etsy later tonite ot this afternnon.I want you to see what I made with the digital print I bought from you,

Love to make herbal items with violets but have never tried vinegar for some reason. It will be next on my list!
