Lizzie Borden Is Here...Just In Time For Your Halloween Decorating!

My Lizzie Borden doll got demolished during my May computer crash. She was half done when it happened. I have resurrected her and I thinks she is even better than my original version. I guess there was a silver lining! Here she is flaunting her hatchet and bloody gloves.

New Handmade Dolls Coming !

I have been designing some new tiny clothespin dolls that I will be selling in the shop. Shown here are...
the tutu girl (left), cotton candy girl, and the "she sells seashells" girl.

Then below is a vintage Elizabeth I clothespin doll (in progress).

Should I also offer the how-to instructions for crafters to make their own?

More fun stuff...

Next I made some cute dolls from tiny perfume bottles. The how tos are in ArtDoll Quarterly magazine, Feb. 2012. The designer is Julia Watada and she sells them made up at http://http//www.etsy.com/shop/watadastudios
Here are mine...

My vintage paper shoe

I finally got some free time to make a paper shoe using the instructions by Terri Gordon.  http://artfulaffirmations.blogspot.com/2010/01/elegant-shoe-tutorial.html . I challenged myself to only use items that were kicking around my craft table at that moment. I found some vintage book pages, some birds on wire, and rubber stamps and punches. I made a tiny envelope, stamped it and tucked it inside of the shoe with some paper grass. One bird on a wire is passing a tiny heart to the other bird on wire. The front shoe decoration is made using an edge punch and heart punch from Martha Stewart. The heel is made from a coil of vintage book page. A paper butterfly has landed at the heel.

I salvaged this design from the Easter weekend computer crash!

I had just finished this 2.5 square gift box design about five hours before my computer crashed at Easter time. I hadn't backed it up yet because it was so new. I fussed and fumed for days because I didn't want to have to do a total redo! But, I loved it so much, I knew that I would have to. Fortunately, I remembered that I had made a printout of the final. (Thank you, God.) So I will try scanning it and creating a final collage sheet to put up for sale. It has different nature designs on all 6 sides. Several of them came from Karen at http://www.Graphics Fairy.blogspot.com . An optional 3D butterfly sits on top. Stay tuned for the final.

Great Customer Project Idea!

Mary has done it again! She repurposed the bunny from my MA15 Royal Chocolatier paper doll and created this adorable spring/summer decoration...that lasts long after Easter.

Thanks Mary! Mary's etsy shop is at http://www.polkadothill.etsy.com  She has some diverse and beautiful things, so be sure to check her shop out ! Here is the listing to buy these two lovelies....  http://www.etsy.com/listing/96679896/spring-fairy-basket-and-bunny-peat-pot

Easter Bunny Gift Box and Tags, Placecards

Chocolate Easter bunnnies holding some springtime pussy willows. A perfect favor for the Easter table. Matching tags can be used as place cards. You don't have to use the bunnies...the box looks pretty without them. Tuck the separate box into the recipient's Easter Basket. (small candies, jelly beans, tiny jewelry fit inside.)  Easy assembly! Instructions included.

If you notice, this matches the Marie Antoinette Royal Chocolatier Parade Character.

Just When You Thought You've Seen Every Art Possible...

I just started getting acitive on Flickr. A lady commented on one of my items in Spanish. I went to her page to see what she was into and was blown away by her typewriter art! Arte de la Machina de Escribir. It looks like she follows a counted cross stitch pattern and reproduces it using a typywriter. She must change cartridges for the colors to change. My Spanish is rusty, so that is as far as I could get in understanding the process as seen on her blog.

New For Valentine's Day !

Give them something for Valentine's Day that they will keep, rather than the ho-hum greeting card that will get thrown away. This love theme can be used throughout the year because it isn't too "Valentine-y". The sign says, "Magic Tea" in French.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/90674743/valentine-paper-doll-digital-download

This can also be used in my Marie Parade because this character is in the same size range and has wheels to match the other characters.
